Dr. Amlan Roy ( Batch of 1980) is Head – Global Macro Policy Research & Senior MD at State Street Global Advisors, London. He is an Internationally acclaimed research expert on Global Macro across Economics, Demographics and Retirement. He is part of a macro group led and inspired by 5 Nobel Laureates in Economics. He speaks globally at more than 70 conferences a year and has been key note speaker alongside Gen Colin Powell, Madeleine Albright, Jay Powell, Ben Bernanke, Larry Summers, Alan Greenspan, Bob Merton, Larry Fink, PM Abe, George Akerlof, John Taylor, Nouriel Roubini, Sir John Major. He spent 18 + Years at Credit Suisse as MD & Head – Global Demographics & Pensions Research. He has taught at Boston Univ, Queen Mary and LSE Univ of London and at Univ of Iowa. He is a Senior Research Associate at London School of Economics and Guest Finance Professor at London Business School.

Post AFBBS, he went to St Stephens College ( Economics) and IIM, Ahmedabad for his MBA followed by PhD in Financial Econ at University of Iowa.

He loves movies, long distance running and supports Pratham and Mewar charities. He is a gender equality advocate advocating it to governments across 100+ countries. Most proud to be an Indian having schooled all over India in 13 locations.

Amlan is based in London and happy to help alumni and their children regarding university choices etc. He lives with his wife Anjana (microbiologist, PhD from Delhi University) and two daughters Antara 20+ and Anysha 13+.
