Manasije Mishra, (Batch of 1984), is Managing Director of DocOnline Health India Pvt. Ltd . His former Leadership roles include CEO of Max Bupa Health Insurance and MD & CEO of HSBC Direct Investis. He is an astute banker turned passionate propagator of health in India as is evident in the story of his professional life.
Post AFBBS he did Economics (Hons) from University of Delhi and an MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur.As MD of DocOnline Health India Pvt. Ltd. since April 2020, he is pushing & building on the vision for a healthier India for all. He spent the last 4 years successfully scaling up by vHealth from Aetna from a small start-up to a rapidly growing organization with over 3 Million members. They focus on telemedicine led preventive and primary healthcare.As CEO of Max Bupa Health Insurance, he drove exponential growth under his leadership, making it the fastest growing general insurer in country. For his significant contribution to health insurance & the growth of Max Bupa, he was recognized as the CEO of the year by the industry in 2014.Before he forayed so passionately into the health world – spreading awareness and cure, Manasije was the MD & CEO of HSBC Direct Invest. Joining the HSBC group in 1989, he held senior positions in Strategy, Retail Banking, Operations, E-Commerce, Trade Finance, Treasury & Financial Control.In between his high-pressure career demands, Manasije has served as the Chairman of the Expert Group of the Chamber Of Commerce India, and has also been a member of the Foreign Exchange Dealers’ Association of India’s (FEDAI) working group on NRI remittances. He is an associate on the Chartered Institute of Bankers, UK. He has very fold memories of AFBBS. As he puts it – “the best years of my life were in school. The culture of the school, the fantastic and committed teachers (and of course Mrs Baxi and my school mates all played a massive role in shaping my personality. I gained a lot of self-confidence during my time at AFBBS. It was the extra-curricular activities that made us what we are today. The inter school debates, the school magazine – Damini which we revived, being the fifth member of the three man school quiz team, all the after school stuff we did – putting up the art & science exhibition, converting class rooms into bedrooms during the Asian Games …..a skill that may be needed again during the current health emergency ! I can’t stop smiling as I write this – I have been flooded with happy memories.
