Shaili Dhagat, (Batch of 1987), is the Winner of Mrs International World Ambassador 2019 held in Melaka,Malaysia. She is also the Winner of Mrs International Global 2018 held in Guwahati.Says Shaili – “Bal Bharti Air Force School”, the Best School in the World ! I have studied here from class III to VIII, which are the the golden years of our lives… difficult to express in words; the years of pure innocence and learning. I have some beautiful and deep-rooted memories. I was in Avantika sadan and apart from studying, I learnt Batik, Sculpture and Sitar. I have fond memories of the Garba dance we performed and the English play on Christmas directed by our graceful English teacher Mrs Nalini Sibal. I also am nostalgic about the game of Chain our entire class played !. Library was my favourite place where I read numerous Enid Blyton series. Canteen was always bustling with kids during interval. I have vivid memories of endless fun activities we had with friends. “
Post leaving BBAFS in Class VIII, she shifted to Kanpur and passed out XII from KV Chakeri, Kanpur. She returned to Delhi to do Biotechnology (Hons) from Shivaji College and then MSc from Banaras Hindu University. She is married to Samir (IAF Pilot) and her life was once again in different Air Force camps like Guwahati, Hyderabad, Bangalore Chandigarh, Shillong. She did her Post Graduation in Mass Communication & Journalism and began a career in field of writing.She has been writing and editing for prestigious English dailies like Indian Express, Times of India, Deccan Herald, Meghalaya Guardian, Tribune, Asian Age, Shillong Times.
Says Shaili – “As a woman I feel we all need to reinvent ourselves from time to time. So I participated in a Beauty Pageant in 2018 ! I won the crown for Mrs International Global 2018 in Guwahati and I can say that crowns of winners are not only made of rhinestones but of sheer
discipline hard work courage and perseverance”She became eligible to represent India in Malaysia on an International platform for married women and single mothers. Thirty countries participated in this mega event in Melaka, Malaysia, hosted by BRAVE foundation. She competed with so many beautiful women from countries like China, USA, New Zealand, Sweden, Japan, Russia, Indonesia, Mexico, Philippines etc. It was a competition that lasted for ten days, and they went through some very tough grilling and questioning ! The grand finale declared her as the winner of Mrs International World Ambassador MIG 2019. The Indian Embassy had also sent officials to attend the event.Says Shaili – “I am honoured that I could make my country proud on such a huge platform. Ministry of Tourism supported me throughout as did my family and friends “She is married to Gp Capt S B Dhagat and has 2 children, Kartikeya & Nayonika.Today, she is a Guest of Honour / Speaker / Judge/ Writer to various events / seminars / conferences. She was Invited as Judge to Philippines for a Beauty Pageant recently. She has been honoured by many organizations as a “Woman Achiever” who has inspired other women.
