Tarika (Uberoi) Roy of 1987 Batch was from the Science – Engineering Drawing stream. An IRAS officer, she is currently posted as Joint Secretary in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Besides, Railways where she last served as Financial Advisor (Headquarters), Northern Railway, she has also served in the Ministry of External Affairs as Director (Central Europe) & Director, Indian Council of World Affairs. She is an Erasmus Mundus scholar having undertaken a European Masters from three European Universities in Denmark, Spain and U.K. She has also been a Delhi University topper, both in her graduation in History from Lady Shri Ram College and in Masters from St. Stephen’s College, following which she did her M.Phil in Delhi University. She also has a M. Phil in Public Administration from the Panjab University. Before joining the Civil Services, she was a permanent lecturer at Hindu College, Delhi University. She has been a national basketball player having represented Delhi State for a number of years and was the School Sports Captain. In school, she proudly represented Taxila House. She is interested in mountaineering, archaeology and writing. She is married to Sanjeev and has two daughters – Arshia and Mahika.
